Green energy to reduce CO2 footprint, develop energy resilience and reduce energy bills
Your Challenge
Reducing carbon footprint and reducing exposure to energy price volatility while transitioning towards more sustainable operations. Industries are actively looking for solutions to decarbonize their operations, but they face significant energy challenges and must comply with evolving regulatory constraints.
Our Offer
Our teams design integrated energy systems combining renewable energy production and energy storage in order to address multiple use-cases: energy auto-consumption, higher electrification needs, green heat production, reduction of exposure to energy price volatility, development of e-mobility, new revenue streams. Our systems help our clients reduce CO2 footprint, develop energy resilience and reduce energy bills.
The energy systems designed and delivered by John Cockerill typically combine three functions with energy production, energy storage, and one or several use-cases. Our energy systems are run, monitored, and optimized by our in-house developed Energy Management System, which enhances performance and benefits in a value stacking approach.
In terms of technologies, our solutions architect size and design the system to meet your operational targets and maximize the project IRR / ROI. The system may combine different technologies amongst the following:
- Renewable production (photovoltaics or wind turbine): our experts analyze your facility consumption profile, usage patterns and available space. By harnessing solar (or wind) energy, you can power your facilities sustainably.
- Stationary energy storage BESS: battery energy storage systems are the best technologies to provide electrical energy “on demand” handling renewables intermittency, consumption profile changes, and energy market price volatility. BESS can address multiple use cases, such as peak shaving, load shifting, price arbitrage, grid services. They can also support a higher electrification of your process, avoiding costly grid connection investment.
- Thermal energy storage (TES): thermal energy storage systems are designed to provide heat or steam in a wide range of temperatures, with either heat recovery or electrical heating. They can even be combined with renewables production, to provide green heat solutions. TES can also participate and be valued in flexibility markets.
- E-mobility: our fast-charging stations ensure efficient, rapid charging, minimizing downtime and keeping your fleet operational on the road. Whether for light vehicles, vans or e-trucks, our charging stations are sized to fit today’s needs.
- The John Cockerill Energy Management System (EMS): our in-house EMS manages energy production, storage, network capacities, and forecast-driven optimization. It enables load shedding during peak demand and ensures flexibility to adapt to changing energy demands based on consumption forecasts and economic data. It is the key stone to maximize performance and benefits in a value stacking approach.
