Enhanced Cycle Efficiency, Reduced Footprint, and Lower HRSG & Lifecycle Cost
With its vertical HRSG flow configuration designs, John Cockerill’s Once Through Boilers (OTB) offer higher Combined Cycle Gast Turbine (CCGT) power plant efficiency, reduced specific emissions (CO2/kWh), and reduced footprint in comparison with horizontal flow configuration.
John Cockerill offers large HRSG designs featuring HP Once-Through dedicated for the latest technology of larger gas turbine models, and small OTBs with dry running capability for gas turbine models from 15 to 100 MW.
These vertical OTBs offer superior operational flexibility and are designed to withstand unlimited daily start-ups and shutdowns of CCGT power plants.
Minimizing Costs and Construction Time
Once-Through design is drum-less – without HP-Drum, saving on its weight and cost. Large Vertical Once-Through-Boilers require less internal headers, jumpers and piping, which is a significant saving in regards to pressure parts’ weight, which can amount to over 125 tons in comparison to an equivalent performance standard horizontal drum-type HRSG.
Accessibility and Reduced Maintenance Costs
With their compact footprint, even when equipped with a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and a CO catalyst, our once-through boilers are designed to offer better accessibility and reduced maintenance costs.
