Our Portfolio of Solutions

Our portfolio includes the following:

Smartgrids

Our experts design, develop, and deliver comprehensive and integrated energy systems behind the meter, combining technologies sized to produce green and dispatchable energy.

These energy systems work as a grid and are managed by an Energy Management System (EMS), entirely designed by John Cockerill.

Green Heat

Our tailor-made solutions use renewable power with built-in storage so as to manage price fluctuations and operations demand, and steam generation, or simply heat supply.
We propose energy storage adapted to temperature levels: molten salt for medium temperatures and solid solutions for high temperatures.

We can also offer hybrid solutions combined with other technologies, such as heat pumps or stand-alone CSP technology.

Power

John Cockerill provides advanced equipment and solutions for steam generation, thermal storage, and thermal solar receivers. Our solar receivers harness solar energy using molten salts or water for steam production. We specialize in designing customized solutions tailored to specific applications. For steam generation with molten salts, we offer designs that are both efficient and resilient to transient conditions and daily startups. Additionally, we can offer turnkey solutions tailored to the unique requirements of each project and location.

Energy Storage

Our team offers BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems – electrical batteries) and TESS (Thermal Energy Storage Systems – thermal batteries). Our expertise includes molten salt and solid-state thermal batteries as well as Redox, Li-ion and NaS batteries. Battery systems offer significant benefits such as auto consumption, grid services, backup during outages, stabilize the grid by balancing supply and demand, and reduce reliance on fossil fuels, leading to more sustainable and resilient energy systems.

Energy Management System, EMS

Our teams have designed and developed a software called Energy Management System (EMS). It ensures the optimal operation of diverse assets within a power plant or microgrid, such as their performance, efficiency, and profitability. Its role is to maximize benefits in a value stacking approach, combining fuel savings and revenue streams. It determines the best moment to charge or discharge the batteries, depending on parameters such as electricity demand, climatic conditions, the market price of energy, …
