Following the successful work carried out by its teams on a first Waste-to-Energy project in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), John Cockerill was awarded a new order for the same kind of project in the country, in Abu Dhabi.

John Cockerill Hamon S.A.U. has been selected for the supply of a 14-cell Air-Cooled Condenser. With the Hamon® cooling system, the plant will enable the sustainable transformation of rubbish into green electricity which will significantly reduce reliance on landfills and decrease the environmental impact.

Indeed, with an annual process of 900,000 tons of non-recyclable waste into energy for the next 30 years, this plant will contribute to support the UAE’s goal of cutting carbon dioxide emissions by 1.1 million tons each year.

This achievement contributes to positioning John Cockerill as a leading supplier of cooling solutions to the UAE’s waste-to-energy sector and a trusted global partner in the generation of clean energy.
